Committing Crimes to Support Drug Addiction? Go to Jail!

According to the Billings Gazette, Jerry Clyde Covington, 55, was sentenced to three concurrent terms of 15 years each with 11 years suspended for three counts of felony robbery in Billings, Montana recently. Why was Covington breaking and entering? To get some cash to pay for his drug addiction -prescription drug addiction, to be specific.
Seacoastonline.com reported recently that four men in their early to mid-20s were indicted on charges of robbery with a weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery in Kittery, Maine. Two of the men confessed. Why did they do the crime? To support their opiate addiction.
