Drug addiction treatment and drug rehab are big business in the United States. It’s not without warrant: hundreds of thousands of Americans seek treatment for drug and alcohol addiction every year. However, there are some drug rehab programs that are not certified and are not above board in their practice, offering inflated promises and magic cures to a disease that has no cure.

Michael’s House is a certified drug and alcohol rehab treatment center in southern California. Our program consists of a wide range of treatments and therapies that are evidence-based and proven to work. If you would like more information about what we offer, contact us today.

One of the most widely talked about drug rehab scam is the ‘rapid detox.’ Because the physical withdrawal symptoms associated with physical dependence upon a drug can be so intense, many are looking for a way to bypass those symptoms and “kick” as quickly as possible. Some drug rehab centers promise that you can be free from drug addiction in less than 24 hours with a rapid detox and flushing system that happens on the operating table. Others provide for a week’s recovery from drug addiction when you undergo their surgical treatment or quit according to their (very specific and obscure) plan.

The fact is, drug detox takes time in order to be both safe and effective. Anything ‘rapid’ in nature puts you at risk and won’t last long.
