Beth Nimmer Marcus Freimuth has a Bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a Master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has extensive experience and training in Dialetical Behavior Therapy, having specialized in DBT skills groups for the past six years. She has received numerous DBT trainings, including training directly from the founder of DBT, Dr. Marsha Linehan.

Beth combines her clinical experience and 17 years of studying of mindfulness and meditation into her practice. She has worked for over 10 years with individuals with extensive trauma histories, personality disorders, substance abuse problems, anxiety, depression, sex addiction, self esteem issues, legal problems and a variety of mental health issues. Her experience includes working as a psychotherapist and skills trainer at Michael’s House Residential and Intensive Outpatient Programs, The Life Healing Center of Santa Fe, Su Vida Residential and multi-systemic intensive in-home family therapy programs. Beth has also worked in community mental health, crisis intervention, and with incarcerated women.

She specializes in using DBT for Dual Diagnosis and custom-designs mindfulness exercises, meditations and exercises for individuals struggling with co-occurring disorders. Beth trains other therapists and staff at Michael’s House on how to incorporate DBT concepts and techniques throughout every aspect of treatment. Beth also consults with other DBT therapists on ways to use innovative techniques with DBT in various settings.

Beth is deeply committed to helping clients find coping skills that are effective in their lives. She strives to assist clients in lessening the suffering in their lives and increasing their experiences of joy and peace.
