Cheryl came to Michael’s House in May of 2011 as a Client Care Manager. She has been excited to bring her expertise in assisting patients as they transition from inpatient treatment to the next level of care. Due to her work at the Betty Ford Center since 1998, she had the opportunity to work with a new program called Focused Continuing Care. She spent ten years designing a year-long follow-up with patients leaving treatment. During that time she had the privilege of working on a project on outcome studies with Tom McClellan at the Treatment Research Institute. The goal was to assist her staff with developing, implementing and monitoring a more standardized and enhanced protocol for FCC treatment. This system was also useful to see if recovery rates change through evidence-based practices. At this time she also had the opportunity to work with the Case Management Team to get patients quality referrals for when they discharged from treatment. She has been in recovery herself since 1987 and is happy to be a part of her clients’ recovery, as well as being on staff at Michael’s House. In her spare time, she enjoys golfing and having conversations over coffee with her friends and family.
