Dr. Harry Goldwasser hails from Atlanta, Georgia, where he attended three great southern public institutions: The Universities of Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina (Chapel Hill) for his undergraduate, medical and residency training (respectively). He is board-certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine.

After finishing his specialty residency in psychiatry, Dr. Goldwasser moved to Arizona, where, for 23 years, he had an eclectic practice that included working in private practice, community mental health, the VA and Air Force, Indian Health Service and ultimately, for the last seven years, at Sierra Tucson Hospital as an addiction medicine psychiatrist. He is also trained in psychoanalytic therapy and mindfulness practices.

Dr. Goldwasser joined the staff at Michael’s House in May 2016, immediately feeling at home in the dry heat of Palm Springs. His experience as a person in recovery has informed his approach to helping those tormented by the disease of addiction. He holds the fundamental belief that everyone has the capacity to recover and heal from spiritual suffering.
