Outpatient Rehab FAQ
What Is Included?
There are two varieties of outpatient drug rehab for opiates like Vicodin: those that include detox and those that don’t.
Those that don’t include Vicodin detox expect that you are entirely free and clear of your Vicodin addiction before you start the program. You should not currently be taking any Vicodin or opiate medication, using any drugs or alcohol, and you should not be experiencing any withdrawal symptoms, either.
Outpatient Vicodin rehabs that include Vicodin detox usually provide medication only. Drugs meant to replace Vicodin like methadone or buprenorphine may be prescribed so that you can detox slowly over the long-term.
Either way, you will begin attending classes, group therapy sessions, family counseling if necessary, and one-on-one counseling sessions to help you learn how to live without Vicodin.
What If I Need More Support?
Many find that the limited hours dedicated to recovery at an outpatient Vicodin rehab aren’t enough to sustain them when they want to relapse. They tend to look for extended support through local 12 step meetings, a professional therapist and by signing up for volunteer work, college courses, or a part time job.
Is There Drug Testing?
Yes.
Because you go home at the end of each day at your outpatient Vicodin rehab center, there is no other way for your counselors to know for sure that you are remaining clean and sober. Most treatment facilities do random drug tests to make sure that you are not using and abusing the program.
Is Rehab The Only Option?
No.
Inpatient or residential Vicodin rehab is a more popular choice for those who are ready to stop using Vicodin. Inpatient Vicodin rehab provides Vicodin detox in addition to the group sessions, one-on-one therapy, and educational classes provided at an outpatient Vicodin rehab. You will also get the 24 hours of medical and therapeutic support that comes with immersing yourself in your treatment. Further, you will have the ability to focus on your health and recovery without concern for common day-to-day stresses like bills or problems at work or home.
